PRIZEY fulfills a number of functions for its readers. One of these is to keep readers informed of giveaways that might be of interest to them. Unlike other sweepstakes blogs and sites, however, PRIZEY is edited to function as an enjoyable "window-shopping" experience for readers who are not obsessive about entering giveaways. That's why we don't list giveaways or sweepstakes that abuse entrants' personal information or involve lengthy or overly complex entry requirements.
In keeping with this editorial mandate to entertain as well as inform, PRIZEY reserves the right not only to decline to list a giveaway that does not seem suitable to our readers, but to periodically ban products which are given away in major marketing campaigns spread across many blogs. We have nothing against these marketing methods, but simply do not want individual products to dominate PRIZEY listings or bore our readers. Factors considered for a potential ban include:
- Level of consistency in post content or entry requirements: Marketing that clearly requires bloggers to quote directly from a script is the shortest path to a PRIZEY ban. Specific, narrow entry requirements that are consistent across all participating blogs (commenting on a particular topic) are also a contributing factor.
- Monetary and intrinsic value of prize: A purely discretionary editorial decision.
- Number of times item has been posted to PRIZEY: Depending on the above factors, our limit may be three, five, or ten postings.
